"Sometimes you have to calm down to speed up... and sometimes you have to calm down to heal."
For years, I lived in the high-pressure worlds of finance, oil and gas, sustainability, and corporate coaching. Navigating business development for environmental engineering, I learned exactly what it’s like to try to balance strategic growth with personal health—and I know exactly what happens when that balance breaks. After utilizing mind-body strategies to fully recover from lifelong migraines and chronic pain, I realized my true life's work wasn't in a boardroom. It was in the brain.
Today, I help high performers and individuals from all walks of life navigate chronic symptoms in private 1-1 coaching or in a group setting to reconnect with their nervous system's natural capacity to heal.
Most persistent symptoms—like chronic pain, insomnia, and anxiety—are driven by a nervous system that has gotten stuck on "high alert." My compassionate, insightful, and occasionally humorous coaching style focuses on Strategies that Work to help you "think about your thinking" so you can dial that alert system back down.
My brain-centric approach is backed by deep training and experience:
NeuroLeadership Institute: Certified coach utilizing a brain-centric methodology.
Curable Health: Actively facilitating core groups for over 7 years.
Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT): Fully trained practitioner.
Sarno X Sachs Group: Active collaborative practitioner.
As Jon Kabat-Zinn beautifully said, "You can't stop the waves, but you can learn how to surf." Together, we won't just manage your symptoms—we will regulate your nervous system so you can get back to the life you love.
Fun fact: The title "Calm Down Coach" was actually given to me by my granddaughter, Jessie, before I ever thought of it myself! 😊

"So far I'm a couple weeks into Missy's Strategies that Work class, and it's clear I've already gotten so much value out of the class and community. Missy has a way of intentionally fostering connection throughout the group and helping everyone feel included. The weekly recap and looking ahead emails include helpful notes, resources, and inspiration. I really appreciate having these notes to reference for motivation throughout the week. I sincerely thank you Missy for creating this beautiful Strategies that Work group. I don't have the words right now to express how much this group means to me. This class has provided me with more support and calm awareness in many aspects of my life. I can't wait to grow closer to my new community and continue healing on my own recovering journey. I am truly grateful for this opportunity!"-Emma, Washington, 2023
"I am so appreciative for you. I really mean that. You walk the happy talk!!! And that is so important to me and others. You remind us that there is so much we can do in just one minute to shift our brains. And that one minute can make all the difference in our entire day/week/month."
"I have so much to detail about what I appreciate about Missy, so it's hard to even start. I think that she is a rare combination of being both very knowledgeable and certain unique character, that know how to emotionally HOLD us, the participants in the group. Being a clinical psychologist, I know how therapists can lean toward the seriousness. But the thing which was really evident with Missy, is her ability to blend seriousness and playfulness: taking us and the matter we come with, very seriously, while still keeping the smile simultaneously."
Missy Warner was a brilliant facilitator. Missy was very good in guiding the group as well."
"She is so warm and informal and open that her skill as a facilitator is virtually invisible, but having facilitated groups myself, I appreciate her skill."
"Missy was an incredible facilitator. She kept conversations flowing by asking probing questions, helped us develop the habit of daily gratitude in our individual lives and within the group, for one another, and our physical symptoms were never explicitly discussed/explained up front; Missy allowed space for us to discuss them organically."
"Missy was wonderful in our group she was always there, always cared and kept her group flowing well. She really did make a huge difference- it would’ve been sad to of gotten somebody unprofessional without heart. Good for her and thank you for your service it’s been life-changing. Thank you again."
"Missy, who ran our group, was excellent at keeping us on track and looking beyond our answers. She was consistent in her approach and always made sure that everyone had an equal opportunity to speak & voice their achievements or questions."
